Based in Berlin, the versatile producer, DJ and live act Franz Matthews is known for crafting groove-heavy Indie Dance, funk-infused House, and dreamy club psychedelia with emotional depth. Born in France and raised between cultures, Franz’s musical journey began with classical piano, guitar, and jazz studies, later channeling those foundations into psychedelic and progressive rock bands and, eventually, electronic music. Inspired by acts like LCD Soundsystem and Soulwax, he fused his love of analog warmth and hypnotic rhythms into a signature style that bridges eras and genres — always guided by artistic integrity, strong commitment, and a deep attention to sonic detail, all while keeping a healthy dose of humor and self-irony.
